I was going to write about the Georgia price-gouging “scandal,” but a former student of mine brought an interesting little tidbit to my attention. (Incidentally, is there any such thing as a “large” tidbit?) Evidently there is an on-line fan club dedicated to me—one that I didn’t start myself.
Modesty would compel me to say that I am flattered beyond my capacity to express myself. I say “would” because in reality, this has boosted the already toxic levels of self-absorption in my system.
Is this a club I’d be proud to have bear my name? Do you have bake sales or blood drives? Do you sell those little wristbands for a buck at grocery stores? Do you sponsor stretches of interstates and read passages from The American Pageant to kindergarteners and the elderly?
Is there an entry fee? Are there t-shirts and meetings? Are there blood oaths and secret handshakes and rites of initiation? Are there rituals and sacraments and schisms due to different interpretations of my overhead transparency notes? If not, why not?
Has it spurred the creation of an on-line anti-Viscariello club? If so, is its membership larger than yours? Do the clubs wear different colors to “represent”? Will those colors be banned from the school? Do you ostracize members who date or fraternize with members of the other club?
Oh, what thou hast done to my ego. It is as large and fat as the calves, goats, and pigs any decent fan club of mine would be sacrificing at sundown on the equinoxes and solstices while dancing around fires and chanting.
I will not post the web address of the fan club, and will not permit posting of it here because I have to maintain at least a façade of humility.
(Okay, now is there an on-line anti-Viscariello club?)

Odd I have yet to be privy to the knowledge of such a club at my school.. As such thou i doubt their are blood oaths and much of what u have talked of. Thus I feel it necessary to create one. I have yet to decide its true name but I will probably end up calling it something along the lines “The underground society of VDV” or possibly “Followers of the phantom of APUSH”. I will do my best to keep its activites secret but once i do get it going we will probably have to launch raids aginst you inorder to secure hair samples to be used for secret rituals. BTW how would u say your name in latin , if any diffrent?
